GAME DAY: ‘Canes Head to Calgary in Rematch

Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes head to Calgary to face the Hitmen in the second of a back-to-back, home-and-home set with their Central Division rivals.

The Hurricanes (7-7-1-0) were handed a 6-3 loss last night by Calgary at the ENMAX Centre in the final of what was a season long seven game home-stand. Jordy Bellerive, Jake Elmer and Giorgio Estephan scored in the losing cause. The ‘Canes outshot the Hitmen 37-31 in the game. The loss was the ‘Canes third straight defeat.

The Hitmen (5-10-1-0) snapped a three game losing streak of their own with the 6-3 win over the ‘Canes. Tristen Nielsen scored twice, including the game-winner, while Matteo Gennaro, Orca Wiesblatt, Andrei Grishakov and Vladislav Yeryomenko potted the others in the winning cause.

Tonight will be the fourth meeting of the season between the ‘Canes and the Hitmen; Lethbridge has posted a 2-1-0-0 record against Calgary this season. The ‘Canes are 1-3-0-0 on the road this season with the lone victory coming in Calgary on October 15th.
