GAME DAY: Hurricanes Begin 2018 Against Ice

Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes begin a four game homestand tonight as they kick off 2018 against the Kootenay Ice at the ENMAX Centre at 7:00pm.

The Hurricanes (16-17-3-0) are coming off a 3-2 overtime loss on Saturday in Calgary to the Hitmen. Jordy Bellerive and Egor Zudilov scored in the loss while Reece Klassen made 27 saves in the defeat. The loss dropped the Hurricanes to 4-4-2-0 in their last ten games.

The Ice (18-17-3-0) are coming off a 5-4 overtime loss last night to the Medicine Hat Tigers in Cranbrook. Alec Baer scored twice while Cameron Hausinger and Brett Davis added the others in the loss. The defeat snapped a five game winning streak for the Ice who are 5-0-2-0 in their last seven games.

Tonight will be the second of seven meetings this season between the Hurricanes and the Ice and the first of three head-to-head match ups this month.
