GAME DAY: Hurricanes Entertain Blades at 7:00pm

Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes begin their November schedule tonight as they welcome the Saskatoon Blades at 7:00pm at the ENMAX Centre.

The Hurricanes (7-6-0-0) are coming off a 7-4 loss on Sunday to the Seattle Thunderbirds; a loss that snapped a three game winning streak. Ryan Vandervlis scored twice in the game, as he now has goals in four straight games, while Josh Tarzwell and Giorgio Estephan potted the others. Reece Klassen made his first WHL start making 25 saves in the loss. The ‘Canes enter tonight with a 6-3-0-0 record on home-ice this season.

The Blades (5-7-1-0) have won back-to-back games over the Swift Current Broncos and Brandon Wheat Kings, two teams well above them in the standings. Their last game was a 4-1 triumph over the Wheat Kings on Saturday night in Saskatoon. The Blades have been led by overage forward Cameron Hebig who has 12 goals and 19 points in 11 games this season after missing the entire 2016-2017 campaign due to injury. Saskatoon begins a three-game Central Division jaunt tonight; they are 3-2-1-0 on the road this year.

Tonight will be the first of four meetings this season between the Hurricanes and the Blades. The ‘Canes won the season series last year posting a record of 3-1-0-0 in the four match-ups. In the past two seasons, the ‘Canes have posted a 7-1-0-0 record against Saskatoon.
