GAME DAY: Hurricanes Host Tigers on Awards Night

Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes continue their final home-stand of the regular season tonight as they welcome the Medicine Hat Tigers at 7:00pm to the ENMAX Centre.

The Hurricanes (36-18-5-5) are coming off a 4-1 victory on Wednesday over the Brandon Wheat Kings in a game in which they clinched a WHL post-season berth. Jake Leschyshyn scored twice while Jake Elmer extended his goal-scoring streak to 13-straight games and Zack Stringer scored his first WHL goal. The win was the ‘Canes fourth straight which tied a season-long winning streak.

The Tigers (32-25-4-2) were handed a 6-5 overtime loss on Wednesday to the Calgary Hitmen in their last outing. Medicine Hat is 1-0-1-0 in their last two games having gone to overtime in both games. Over their last ten games, the Tigers have posted a 2-7-1-0 record.

Tonight will be the ninth of ten meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and Tigers; Lethbridge has posted a 5-1-1-1 record in the prior eight meetings this year.

Tonight will also be Awards Night as the Hurricanes will be handing out their annual awards prior to the game. Tickets for the game can be purchased online at www.enmaxcentre.ca, by calling 403-329-SEAT (7328) or by visiting the ENMAX Centre or Yates Ticket Centre’s.

VS. TIGERS: Tonight will be the ninth of ten meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and the Tigers. The ‘Canes have posted a 5-1-1-1 record in the previous eight meetings having swept a home-and-home set against Medicine two weekends ago.
