GAME DAY: Hurricanes Look to Clinch Playoff Spot Tonight

Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes return to the ENMAX Centre tonight as they begin a three-game homestand against the Brandon Wheat Kings at 7:00pm.

The Hurricanes (35-18-5-5) are coming off a five-game road trip in which they posted a 4-1-0-0 record and are riding a three-game winning streak. The ‘Canes were last in action on Saturday when they earned a 4-1 win in Regina against the Pats. Entering tonight, the Hurricanes need a single point to officially clinch a WHL Playoff berth.

The Wheat Kings (30-24-4-4) are coming off a 7-0 shutout victory in Cranbrook over the Kootenay Ice last night. Brandon enters play tonight tied in points with the Red Deer Rebels for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Wheaties enter tonight’s game 7-2-1-0 in their last ten games.

Tonight will be the final meeting of the season between the Hurricanes and the Wheat Kings; Lethbridge has posted a 2-1-0-0 record in the three games prior this year having won each of the last two outings.

The first 1,200 fans that arrive tonight at the ENMAX Centre will receive collector Lethbridge Herald hockey cards. Tickets for tonight’s game can be purchased online at www.enmaxcentre.ca, by calling 403-329-SEAT (7328) or by visiting the ENMAX Centre or Yates Ticket Centre’s.

VS. WHEAT KINGS: Tonight will be the final of four meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and the Wheat Kings. The Hurricanes have posted a 2-1-0-0 record in the three games so far this season having won each of the last two meetings. The ‘Canes have outscored the Wheaties 14-13 in the three games.
