Hurricanes Acquire Horon from Everett

Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Wednesday that they have acquired forward Michael Horon from the Everett Silvertips in exchange for a sixth round draft pick in the 2019 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Horon, 16, is a product of Lethbridge and was a ninth round draft pick (190th overall) by the Silvertips in the 2016 Bantam Draft. This season, Horon has registered 22 points (9g-13a) along with 20 penalty minutes with the Lethbridge Hurricanes Midget AAA hockey team. Last year, the left-handed shot forward collected 77 points (38g-39a) along with 26 penalty minutes in 37 games with the Hurricanes Minor Midget team while adding nine points (6g-3a) in five post-season games.

Horon spent two seasons playing for the Lethbridge Golden Hawks Bantam AAA team in 2014-2015 and 2015-2016. In 52 games over two years with the Golden Hawks, he registered 55 points (23g-32a) along with 50 penalty minutes.

The Hurricanes return to action Friday when they travel to Red Deer to face the Rebels before welcoming the Kootenay Ice to the ENMAX Centre on Saturday. Tickets for the game can be purchased online, by calling 403-329-SEAT (7328) or by visiting the ENMAX Centre Ticket Centre.
