Hurricanes re-assign Goalie

Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes announced Friday they have re-assigned Goalie Jarrod Schamerhorn to the Merritt Centennials of the BC Hockey League who own his rights.

The Hurricanes acquired the Kelowna, BC native at the January 10th WHL trade deadline from the Portland Winterhawks in exchange for a 7th round Bantam pick in 2014.

Prior to joining the Hurricanes, the 6’2, 189 pound netminder had played in 10 games with the Winterhawks posting a 3-2-0-0 record with a 4.40 GAA and .875 save percentage. He was acquired to help the Hurricanes goaltending situation with Teagan Sacher sidelined with an injury. In four appearances with Lethbridge, Schamerhorn was 0-2 with a .822 save percentage.
