Tuesday, January 23rd – 7-3 Loss at Kootenay Ice: The Hurricanes ended a five game BC road trip on Tuesday with a 7-3 loss in Cranbrook to the Kootenay Ice. Jordy Bellerive, Keltie Jeri-Leon and Brad Morrison scored in the losing cause.

Wednesday, January 24th – 4-3 OT Loss vs. Kelowna Rockets: The Hurricanes returned home on Wednesday and were handed a 4-3 overtime loss by the Kelowna Rockets. It was the second time in a week they dropped an overtime defeat to the Rockets. Jadon Joseph, Jordy Bellerive and Igor Merezhko scored in the game.

Friday, January 26th – 3-2 OT Loss vs. Moose Jaw Warriors: The Hurrricanes battled back against the best team in the WHL tying the game with 26 seconds left to force overtime before eventually losing to the Moose Jaw Warriors. Keltie Jeri-Leon and Jadon Joseph scored in the game.

Sunday, January 28th – 2-1 OT Win at Red Deer Rebels: The Hurrricanes earned their first OT victory of the season on Sunday in Red Deer. Jordy Bellerive scored to tie the game in the third period before winning it in the extra session as he netted his team-leading 32nd and 33rd goals of the season.


Friday, February 2nd, 7:00pm vs. Swift Current Broncos: The ‘Canes will welcome Tanner Nagel, Giorgio Estephan, Stuart Skinner and the Swift Current Broncos for the final time this season. The three former Hurricanes will make their return to the ENMAX Centre for the first-and-only time since the trade on January 9th. The ‘Canes are 0-3-0-0 against Swift Current so far this season.

Saturday, February 3rd, 7:00pm vs. Edmonton Oil Kings: The ‘Canes play the second of a two-game home weekend as they entertain the Edmonton Oil Kings on Saturday night. The ‘Canes are 3-1-0-0 against the Oil Kings this year but it was Edmonton who earned a 6-5 overtime win over the Hurricanes in the last meeting in Lethbridge back on December 8th.

Extra Time: The Hurricanes have had three straight games go to overtime posting a 1-2 record in this three outings. The ‘Canes earned their first overtime win of the season on Sunday in Red Deer against the Rebels. The ‘Canes are now 1-6 in games that have been decided in the extra session.

El Capitano: Jordy Bellerive has been red hot of late. The Pittsburgh Penguins prospect has racked up 11 points in his last eight games while potting eight goals in that span. Bellerive has goals in five of his last seven games, including his first WHL hat-trick on January 19th in Prince George against the Cougars.

A Nice Rest: The Hurricanes have been faced with a very busy schedule as of late. The ‘Canes will enjoy four days off before their next game on Friday against the Swift Current Broncos. On Sunday, the ‘Canes completed a span where they played ten games in 17 days.
