Awards Night: On Wednesday, March 15th the Hurricanes will hold their annual Awards Night before the game against the Kootenay Ice. It is recommended that fans be in their seats well in advance to 7:00pm to be able to witness the awards ceremony.

Jersey Off Our Backs: Following the game on Friday, March 17th against the Medicine Hat Tigers, the Hurricanes will hold the Jersey’s Off Our Backs live auction as they will auction off their game-worn red jerseys following the game.

Playoff Package for Season Ticket Holders: Are you a season ticket holder? Be sure to secure your seats for the 2017 Playoffs by purchasing your Playoff Ticket Package today! Seats will be released to the public for post-season games starting on Friday, March 18th.

Next Home Game: The Hurricanes will be back at home on Wednesday, March 15th when they host the Kootenay Ice at the ENMAX Centre at 7:00pm. Ticket are available online, by calling 403-329-SEAT (7328) or by visiting the ENMAX Centre or Yates Ticket Centre’s.

THE WEEK THAT WAS

Wednesday, March 8th – 2-1 OT Win vs. Edmonton Oil Kings: The Hurricanes won their seventh straight game on Wednesday as they earned a 2-1 overtime win over the Oil Kings. Tyler Wong scored his 49th goal of the season in regulation while Brady Pouteau netted the overtime winner for his first.

Friday, March 10th – 4-3 Loss at Calgary Hitmen: Giorgio Estephan scored twice while Tanner Nagel added a single but it wasn’t enough as the Hurricanes had their seven game winning streak come to an end as they dropped a 4-3 decision at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Saturday, March 11th – 5-2 Loss vs. Calgary Hitmen: The Hurricanes lost their second straight game in regulation on Saturday as they were handed a 5-2 defeat to the hands of the Hitmen in the second of a home-and-home set. It was the first time since early January that the ‘Canes lost back to back games.

THIS WEEK’S GAME SCHEDULE

Wednesday, March 15th, 7:00pm vs. Kootenay Ice: The Hurricanes continue their final home stand of the regular season as they welcome the Kootenay Ice on Wednesday night at the ENMAX Centre. It’s the return of Brett Davis and Colton Kroeker and it’s the final of seven meetings between the ‘Canes and Ice. It is also Awards Night, so arrive early!

Friday, March 17th, 7:00pm vs. Medicine Hat Tigers: The ‘Canes welcome the Tigers in their final regular season home game on Friday night as they look to finish the season strong. The ‘Canes are 3-2-0-0 against Medicine Hat so far this season.

Saturday, March 18th, 7:30pm at Medicine Hat Tigers: The Hurricanes will conclude the 2016-2017 regular season when they travel to face the Tigers in Medicine Hat on Saturday night. The Hurricanes are 1-2-0-0 in three appearances at the Canalta Centre so far this season.

NEWS & NOTES 

Race to 50: Tyler Wong enters the final week of regular season play with 49 goals on the season. The ‘Canes Captain will become the 12th player in franchise history to score 50+ goals in a single season when he scores his next goal. He will be the first ‘Cane to accomplish the feat since 1997-1998 when Shane Willis potted 58.

Top 30 Players: The Hurricanes continue to unveil their Top 30 Players in franchise history. Coming in a #2 on the list was forward Wes Walz. Walz played two seasons with the Hurricanes from 1988 until 1990. He owns the best points-per-game rate (2.05) in Hurricanes history. He potted 246 points (84g-161a) in 120 games.
