Dairy Queen Home Opener: The Lethbridge Hurricanes begin their 30th Anniversary Season this Friday when they welcome the Medicine Hat Tigers at the ENMAX Centre at 7:00pm. The night will include special player introductions as well as the 2015-2016 Central Division Banner raising! Tickets are still available for purchase by visiting the ENMAX Centre Ticket Centre, the Yates Ticket Centre, online or by calling 403-329-SEAT (7328).
Home Opener Tickets Available at Dairy Queen: Fans will receive two tickets to the Dairy Queen Home Opener upon purchasing two burger, fries and drink combos (excluding the $6 and $7 meal deals) at all Dairy Queen locations in Lethbridge. Limited supplies are available.
Brown’s Socialhouse Tailgate Party: Once again there will be a tailgate party prior to the Dairy Queen Home Opener on the North Plaza of the ENMAX Centre sponsored by Brown’s Socialhouse. The tailgate party will run from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and will feature burgers, chips and water available by donation. All proceeds raised will be donated to the United Way.
Battle of the Dealerships: At the Dairy Queen Home Opener, bring a non-perishable food item or cash donation for our local food banks and receive your official CLAPPER for the game! It’s a battle of Davis GMC Lethbridge and Davis GMC Buick Medicine Hat. Let’s beat the Tigers!

Season Ticket Holder Blankets Now IN: The Season Ticket fleece blankets are now in and available at the Hurricanes Office! Open Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:30pm. Pick up also available at the Information Booth under section II at the Home Opener. Must have coupon to pick up!

Thursday, September 15th – 5-2 WIN vs. Kootenay: The Hurricanes earned a 5-2 win over the Ice in Crowsnest Pass. Ryley Lindgren paced the way with three points (2g-1a) while Jesse Zaharichuk, Colton Kroeker and Jordy Bellerive scored the others in the victory. Stuart Skinner made 31 saves for the victory.
Friday, September 16th – 6-2 Loss vs. Calgary: The Hurricanes wrapped up the Pre-Season with a 6-2 loss to the Hitmen in Crowsnest Pass. Colton Kroeker and Zane Franklin scored in the game. The ‘Canes finished with a 2-4-0-0 record in the exhibition season.

Friday, September 23rd, 7:00pm vs. Medicine Hat Tigers: The Hurricanes kick off their 30th Anniversary Season when they welcome the Tigers at the ENMAX Centre on Friday in the Dairy Queen Home Opener. Last year the ‘Canes edged the Tigers 5-1 in the first game of the year. The Hurricanes posted an impressive 4-0-0-0 record against the Tigers in Lethbridge last season.
Saturday, September 24th, 7:30pm @ Medicine Hat Tigers: The Hurricanes play their first road game of the season on Saturday when they travel to the Canalta Centre. The ‘Canes posted a 1-2-0-0 record in Medicine Hat last season, including a 5-3 loss in the first ever game at the Tigers new arena. The Hurricanes won the season series against Medicine Hat in 2015-2016 however, posting a 5-2-0-0 record.

NEWS & NOTES
Hurricanes Acquire Menell: The Hurricanes announced Monday that they have acquired offensive-defenseman Brennan Menell from the Vancouver Giants for Darian Skeoch and a fourth round draft pick. Menell had 53 points (7g-46a) last season with Vancouver finishing second in team scoring.
Hurricanes Deal Folk: The Hurricanes announced Monday that they had also traded overage forward Carter Folk to the Victoria Royals in exchange for a fourth round draft pick. Folk spent parts of three seasons with the Hurricanes appearing in 171 games collecting 61 points (26g-35a).
Hurricanes Acquire Nagel: The Hurricanes announced Wednesday that they had acquired 18-year-old forward Tanner Nagel from the Portland Winterhawks in exchange for unsigned goaltender Shane Farkas. Nagel appeared in 38 games last season with the ‘Hawks registering one goal and 32 penalty minutes.
Six at NHL Camps: Six Hurricanes players are taking part in NHL Training Camps. Tyler Wong (Toronto), Giorgio Estephan (Buffalo), Brayden Burke (Calgary), Egor Babenko (Arizona), Brady Reagan (Ottawa) and newly acquired Brennan Menell (Philadelphia).
Thunder Chief Re-Assigned: The Hurricanes announced Tuesday that the club has re-assigned forward Drayton Thunder Chief to the Kindersley Klippers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (Junior A). Thunder Chief appeared in four regular season games for the ‘Canes during the 2015-2016 season registering two assists.
30th Anniversary Season: The 2016-2017 hockey season is the Lethbridge Hurricanes 30th Season in Lethbridge. As part of the celebrations, the Hurricanes will be conducting the 30 Days of Giveaways, Top 30 Moments and Top 30 Players in the franchise’s history.
