Training Camp - Day 5 Recap

Lethbridge, AB – Four games remained for the four teams at Training Camp and spots were wide open as to who would play in Sunday’s Alumni Championship and third place games. Team Red/White and Team Blue both entered the final day of action sporting perfect 2-0 records, but no undefeated record and no lead is ever safe. The day started with Team Red and Team White with the Red squad still in search of their first win. The Red side got off to a great start by scoring not even two minutes into the game on a goal by Reid Duke but Jamal Watson would tie it up and that 1-1 tie would hold through the first period. Jonny Hogue got the start in goal for the White team and he stopped 18 of the 19 shots he faced to start while Ryan Ferguson stopped 10 of 11.  Team Red would take a 3-1 lead in the second period, but Colby Chartier assisted on Team White’s final two goals that tied the game at 3. Off to overtime we’d go and a penalty would be called and that marked the end for Team Red as Kolten Olynek makes no mistake on his penalty shot giving Team White the 4-3 win.
