GAME DAY: Hurricanes Entertain Reeling Ice

Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes begin a three-game home-stand tonight as they welcome the Kootenay Ice to the ENMAX Centre at 7:00pm.

The Hurricanes (21-10-4-4) are coming off a 5-2 victory on Sunday in Edmonton over the Oil Kings. Five different goal scorers lit the lamp in the win while goaltender Liam Hughes made 39 saves for his second win with the Hurricanes. The victory improved the ‘Canes record to 12-2-2-2 in their last 18 games and vaulted them into first place in the Central Division with 50 points.

The Ice (8-27-6-1) were most recently handed a 6-0 loss by the Vancouver Giants on Sunday in Cranbrook. The defeat was Kootenay’s seventh straight loss as they have posted a dismal 1-15-4-0 record in their last 20 games while having lost 11-straight games on the road.

Tonight will be the first of two meetings between the ‘Canes and Ice in the next four days as Kootenay will be back in Lethbridge on Saturday as well. It is the fourth of six meetings on the season between the two clubs; Lethbridge has posted a 3-0-0-0 record so far this season.
