Hurricanes announce another signing

Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes are pleased to announce their top pick from the 2014 CHL Import Draft, Nikita Milekhin, has signed the Western Hockey League’s Standard Player Agreement.

On July 2nd, the Hurricanes used their 3rd overall pick to select Milekhin, a 1997-born right winger who played for Moscow Dynamo last season. The 6’1, 170 pound forward played in 26 games last year where he registered 21 points, including 13 goals and added 12 PIM’s. He followed that up with 6G, 1A in 15 playoff games.

Yuri Yanchenkov with International Scouting Services says Milekhin is a very good skater with good puck skills and hockey sense and his progress has been getting better and better.


In preparation for the 2014-2015 WHL season, the Lethbridge Hurricanes will open their 2014 Training Camp presented by ENMAX on Thursday, August 21st. All on-ice sessions will be held at the ENMAX Centre and they are free and open to the public. The schedule for training camp can be found at
