Hurricanes Deal Dosanjh, Re-Assign King

Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Monday that the team has traded overage defenseman Shaun Dosanjh to the Portland Winterhawks in exchange for a ninth round draft pick in the 2017 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft; the team also announcing they’ve re-assigned 17-year-old defenseman Ethan King to Junior-B.

Dosanjh, 20, was claimed off waivers by the Hurricanes in late November from the Kamloops Blazers. Dosanjh appeared in 12 games with the Hurricanes after being claimed registering three assists with 21 penalty minutes and a minus-1 rating. The Richmond, BC product has appeared in 154 career WHL games with the Hurricanes, Blazers, Prince George Cougars and Vancouver Giants.

Meanwhile, King, 17, has been re-assigned by the Hurricanes to the Kamloops Storm of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (Junior-B). The Vernon, BC product appeared in 14 games this season with the ‘Canes going pointless with two penalty minutes and a minus-9 rating.

The Hurricanes now have a total of 21 players on their roster including 12 forwards, seven defenseman and two goaltenders.
