Hurricanes Fall 3-2 to the Warriors

Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes played the final of a four-game home stand on Saturday as they were handed a 3-2 loss by the hands of the Moose Jaw Warriors at the ENMAX Centre.

It was an even first period that saw the team’s trade chances throughout the opening twenty minutes. Moose Jaw was able to pull out in front with power play goal at the 18:46 mark as Tristin Langan buried a rebound passed Carl Tetachuk to make it 1-0; Josh Brook and Jett Woo earned the assists on the goal. Lethbridge was outshot 10-6 in the first period.

The teams traded goals in the middle frame as the Hurricanes tied the game at the 1:17 mark while four-on-four as Logan Barlage ripped home his eighth goal of the season to make it 1-1; the goal was scored unassisted. Moose Jaw pulled back ahead on another power play goal at the 9:57 mark as Brayden Tracey potted a loose puck to make it 2-1 Warriors; Brook and Woo picked up the helpers on the goal. Moose Jaw held the edge in shots 15-6 in the middle frame.

In the third period, the teams traded goals again. Moose Jaw made it a 3-1 hockey game as Langan potted his second of the game at the 10:54 mark on a centering pass from Tracey; Ryan Peckford picked up the second assist on the goal. The ‘Canes pulled to within one as Zach Cox netted his seventh of the season on a power play with 3:01 left in the game; Taylor Ross and Dylan Cozens earned the helpers on the goal. The ‘Canes pulled the goaltender but could not find a game-tying goal as Moose Jaw earned the 3-2 win.

Shots in the third period favoured the Warriors 16-12 and 41-24 in the game. Lethbridge went 1/3 on the power play while Moose Jaw was 2/8 on the night.

3) ‘Canes – #35 Carl Tetachuk (38 saves)

The loss for the Hurricanes ends their four-game home stand with a 2-2-0-0 record as they fall to 6-4-0-2 at the ENMAX Centre. The ‘Canes now sit with a 9-7-2-2 record on the season.

The Hurricanes embark on a four-game road trip that will begin on Tuesday when they visit the Prince Albert Raiders. The ‘Canes will be back at the ENMAX Centre on Friday, November 30th when they welcome the Swift Current Broncos on the Annual Toque and Teddy Toss!
